Medical Oncologist and Haematologist

Dr Vinod Ganju graduated in Medicine at the University of Western Australia and underwent post-graduate training in Medical Oncology in Perth and subsequently completed a fellowship in Haematology and Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in the USA. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Medical Oncology Group of Australia, the Haematology Society of Australia, European Society of Medical Oncology and the American Association of Cancer Research. Dr Ganju is on the consulting staff at Frankston Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and Peninsula Private Hospital. He is the Director of Peninsula Oncology Centre, with a keen interest in medical research he is Principal Investigator for the many clinical trials running there and is also a staff member of Monash Institute of Medical Research actively involved in translation research projects. Dr Ganju also has a role as supervisor for Oncology trainees within his private practice.

Dr Min-Ne Wu graduated in Medicine at Monash University. She underwent post-graduation training in clinical pharmacology at Austin Health and in medical oncology at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, a member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia and the American Society of Oncology. She is keenly interested in the management of cancers of breast, lung, prostate and gastrointestinal tract. She is also interested in drug research and development, particularly in clinical trials.

Dr Sanjeev Sewak graduated from Melbourne University in 1989. He trained in Internal Medicine and later Medical Oncology and received his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2000. He is a member of Medical Oncology Group of Australia, Victorian Clinical Oncology Group – Urology, Australasian Gastro-intestinal Tumour Group, Australian and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Australian Medical Association. Dr Sewak spent two years in New York doing post-graduate research and training in Oncology at New York University Medical Centre in Manhattan.

On returning to Australia he worked in Wollongong and more recently in Geelong.

Dr Sewak has a broad range of experience in all tumour types and has a particular interest in lung, prostate and urological cancers.

Dr Markman graduated from medicine at Monash University. His residency in general medicine was completed at the Alfred Hospital, after which he undertook his training in medical oncology at a variety of Melbourne-based hospitals, receiving his specialist qualifications in 2006. Dr Markman then moved to Barcelona, Spain where he completed a fellowship in early stage clinical trials and translational oncology at the Hospital Vall d'Hebron. Returning to Melbourne in 2010, he now spreads his time between public, private and research commitments. In addition to part-time work at the Peninsula Oncology Centre, he holds a dual appointment between Monash Medical Centre at Southern Health and the Monash Institute of Medical Research (part of Monash University) where he continues clinical and preclinical research in addition to the care of cancer patients in outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. His interests include lung, gastrointestinal and genitourinary tumour streams, as well as all stages of clinical trials.

Dr Jason Lickliter, MBBS PhD FRACP Medical Oncologist

Dr Jason Lickliter, MBBS PhD FRACP
Medical Oncologist

Dr Lickliter is a consultant medical oncologist with particular interests in brain tumours, gastrointestinal cancers, melanoma and the development of new anti-cancer drugs. He received his medical degree from the University of Queensland and completed physician and medical oncology training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and the University of Minnesota Medical Center, USA. Dr Lickliter also completed PhD studies at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne and has extensive experience in clinical and laboratory cancer research. Most recently, he has been the study chairman for several early-phase clinical trials of new therapies for brain tumours and other cancers.

Dr Lickliter directs the Phase I Cancer Trials Program at Monash Medical Centre and Monash Institute of Medical Research. He is also a staff medical oncologist at Monash Medical Centre, Frankston Hospital and Peninsula Oncology Centre, and visits Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, Peninsula Private Hospital and South Eastern Private Hospital.

Dr Shen is a consultant medical oncologist with interests in all tumour types, especially lung, gastrointestinal, breast and urological cancers. He completed physician and medical oncology training at Monash Medical Centre, Austin Hospital and Alfred Hospital. Dr Shen also completed PhD studies at the University of Melbourne and has been involved in multiple clinical trials for different cancers. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, a member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
